Building a Cancer-Fighting Pantry
By Cook for Your Life · July 13, 2026

Stock these staples and a nourishing meal is always fifteen minutes away.
A well-stocked pantry removes the biggest barrier to cooking well: deciding what to make.
Grains: brown rice, quinoa, rolled oats, whole wheat pasta, polenta. Legumes: canned chickpeas, black beans and white beans; dried lentils. Cans and jars: crushed tomatoes, tuna or sardines, olives, tahini, nut butter. Freezer: mixed berries, spinach, peas, edamame, frozen fish fillets. Flavor: olive oil, vinegars, lemons, garlic, ginger, dried herbs and spices.
With those on hand, a bowl of grains, beans and greens with a lemon-tahini dressing takes fifteen minutes and requires no shopping.
